Cruise control troubleshooting

On my 1990 964, the cruise will not engage. I have replaced the clutch micro-switch. I adjusted it and ensured the pedal was coming completely up to the switch to engage it. It is. My brake micro-switch is working the brake lights. Given that, would it also be working for the cruise control, or is there an additional circuit through this switch for the CC? In other words, could the brake lights be working, but the switch still be inoperative for the CC causing the CC not to engage?

I have read the other posts re: CC, but none addressed this exact question.

Thanks for any info.

Steve

Check the linkage at the throttle cables in the engine compartment. There is a small turnbuckle type thing that ties the cruise cable into the gas pedal cable. Mine came off and caused my cruise to quit.
