A little sidenote-
Many many thanks to Pelican for helping me with this car. I have found the best prices and stock on just about everything so far and look forward to diving deeper next winter when I begin the rear end. But for now, I think I will slap some rims on the car, align, balance and have fun.

Finally found a proper LED replacement for the front running lights.

Rims...for the time being. Fikse Profil 5-18x8.5 & 18x11. Kind of boring, but strong and light. Will replace with Speedline Daytonas soon.

What LEDs do you use for the fog & front light?

Resident Sicko 03-22-2011 09:32 AM

PIAA for fog, sent origonal running light bulbs to friend in Japan to match up.
(no affliliation)
I bought three different kinds (single/diffused/multiple diode and all work with same effects.

Scheduled a bit of time for Cat and I to take the car out after work yesterday...Still have some small things to address but all in all felt good, ran well and got a chance to make some ruckus. Cat drove it home and am pretty sure she likes it.
I have the Fikse rims and tires sold to a gentlemen in Colorado who just bought "Barney", a well known "one off" factory painted in purple. I have a lead on another set of Fikse mesh rims that I think will look more "proper" on the car to be used until I can find and afford the rims I really want then will become track rims.

The Fabspeed Supercup exhaust is quite loud.

Car still needs to be corner balanced as the front felt very "flighty", especially when accelerating and while 282hp in this car is not a huge number, it had no problem reaching 120 by accident on the freeway in between exits. Totally different type of car from the S2000. Softer, less "intimate" with not as much of a "grin factor"....but can be addressed with proper sway bars, control arm bushings and motor mounts I suspect.

New shoes ans stiffer bars-
Forged and lifghtweight (19lbs for the 18x11 rears!) Innsbruck for the time being and future track use. H&R sway bars-26mm front and 24mm rear- Much thicker than the 20 and 17mm stock bars. In for powdercoating..

That would be spectacular, but it is actually Boxter Red.

Which ones? Stock? Sold and are currently on a super nice Silver turbo in California. (regret and looking for a replacement set)

Fikse? Sold currently on a kickass purple turbo in Colorado.

These? Will swap slicks on them and used for track. Will be replaced for street use with something a bit more heavy and a lot deeper dish in the back.

Got the Turbo S brake ducts painted to match, installed Hella de Micro. Working on connecting duct tubing to front calipers using factory Supercup hardware with a quick "slide block" to use for street. Love the already in place routing from the factory on all 993s!

HUGE improvement in light output over factory lights and crappy lights that came with the ducts.

New goodies arrived- Motor mounts, bushings and a second pair of lower control arms should tighten things up a bit and take the "soft and lazy" out of the German.

I'm curious about the wheel fitments, what are the offsets(ET) , what tires and what are the fender heights?

Those were 18x8.5 and 18x11 both front and rear at +45 offset. Tires: 225 up front and 285 in the rear with a very low suspension setting. (was about 1/4" lower than RS) No rolling of fenders, no rubbing.

Currently am running more aggressive offset and 295 in rear but to me, the setup used with the Fikse rims was perfectly balanced. (front to rear fender overhang)

Sway Bar help ?

Hi,

Last year I installed PS10s on my C4S 993 and I dropped (and lost) one of those special machined Allen head Sway Bar bolts. What is the Sway Bars vendor name ?

Thanks,

Patrick

I am confused..If you are looking for the sway bar bracket bolts, they are OE. Found here on Pelican Parts. If you are asking about the end links, well they too can be found here on Pelican or some aftermarket.

Best bet is to call or get yourself a 993 parts katalog. (shared on rennlist for free) to find the part and part number.

Sorry I could nto help more.

After giving plenty of thought to the exhaust and enjoying the Supercup rear sections, I decided to go out on a limb and create my own. The wide body C2S is limited to exhaust choices and I wanted to keep within the factory look for various PCA events.
Starting point:
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...t/IMG_3436.jpg
Split canisters showing filler. Yum.
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...t/IMG_3457.jpg
Taking a look at the Stock Gillette exhaust from my C2S and comparing it to the turbo muffler, I figured the best option is to simply clean up the airflow. Notice how the turbo muffler has perforated sections that provide a clean pass through when exhaust is forced (WOT) but no cross tube (possible motor sound option as the car is optioned.
Split C2S muffler equipped with Motor Sound Option:
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...t/IMG_3458.jpg
Split turbo muffler (image taken from elsewhere on web)
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...boMuffler1.jpg
Removed internals that simply “dumped” gasses into chamber and forced them out the exit tube:
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...t/IMG_3459.jpg
New elbows and another diction of perf tube in place:
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...t/IMG_3461.jpg
http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...t/IMG_3462.jpg
Lastly, sent them out for a complete polish. Yeah, I know they will not stay that way, but if I keep on top of it and limit the amount of rain driving, they might pick up a nice bronze/blue hue as with my previous rides.

http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...t/IMG_3503.jpg
Next up- Dyno with Supercups vs. these. I expect a raspy sound as with the Supercups, but these look closer to stock and will permit the addition of the Fister Wide Ovals!
