Modified 996 headers for 964?

I have been looking around for headers for my 964 and other than a few very high dollar setups I haven't found much. I have found a number of good looking 996 headers which would need the flange cut off and flanges for the 3.6 welded on but, how much difference in spacing is there between the 996 engine and 964 at the exhaust ports? This might just be a wild Idea but when you are on a budget you try to be creative in getting the parts you want for your car. hahaha

Mike

if you are not worried about smog or a visual, you could get 993 heat exchangers (stainless steel) with heat and you need to have the flange on the right side rotated and welded to bolt to the heads on the right side of the engine. Porsche increase the hp on the 993 1995 model to 272 hp up from 247 for the 964 and the biggest change was the heat exchangers on the 993. Expect to pay $300 and up per side. Jim

Mike,

I have thought that for a while to, I have a couple of friends with GT3's and the systems on these cars look awesome. I will have to measure them up some time..... Won't be for a few weeks, I will try and post here when I do.

However, I will have a set of 1995 993 Headers coming off my car pretty soon..... If thats the direction you end up, PM me.

Thanks for the info guys. I just do not understand how there are so many nice looking long tube header systems for the 996 cars but not 964 cars. I have no issue with paying $300 for a set of stainless 996 headers and welding on new flanges to mount them on my engine. Exhaust port spacing will determine weather or not I try this though.
