1992 911 C2 Value
I need some help getting a decent value on my 92' 911 - my car was flooded (low level) two years ago. Been embroiled in a pissing contest with State Farm ever since. If I could've used Comparables they would've paid what a comparable 911 was selling for. (In the $22-$24k range. Catch 22 is that the car had to be within a 100 mile radius. None available so they paid only $17.5k. I bought the car back, it's up and running. I contested, we're in the appraisal phase of this mess. - it goes to a third and binding appraisal. I need someone who knows the real market value of these cars. State Farms appraiser came out and asked me to pop the front hood so he could look at the engine... ugh! local porsche dealler had no problem valuing the car at mid to low $20's. Both parties agree the car's in vg condition, so it's not so much about that as it is the real value. Any help or advice will be appreciated.

I bought my 1992 911 C2 Cab here in California for $23K six months ago. The use car guy wanted $26K but got scared when he saw some oil dripping out the engine which was caused by him putting to much oil in the car. I search six months for my 964 and I can tell you, your estimate of mid to low $20 is about right. The amount of miles on the car has a lot to do with the price also.
This is my first post on Pelican so I hope it works. |

I also spent a lot of time narrowing my search for a 92' - have 110k miles, plan to keep it a long time...just insurance company being a insurance company. i will know in the future to put a realistic / fair market value on the policy so there isn't any question of the value. Not letting State Farm off the hook. Found a good Porsche Appraiser that agrees it's worth $22k or more.
