What's a good source in West for bits?

95 993 cabriolet Grand Prix White, Black dash and door trim, Lt Gray Leather, gray top.. Needs a steering rack and some interior bits. Looking for solid sources. Quality parts and honest dismantlers... Any input would be great.

I'd stay away from LA Dismantlers. There's a Porsche salvager in Phx, try google-no experience with them. Oklahoma Foreign is good, from past experience.

I've heard about a few LA misadventures, "20th Street Auto" is an honest source but not a huge inventory. Google/Ebay as often stabs in the dark... self inflicted wound. Not to say I don't look. I have eve scored a few bits from honest sellers. And not... I bought a front spoiler on EBay that was advertised to be specifically for the car I have. It arrived and was a crude fiberglass three piece (that didn't come together properly where the middle section is to fit. 1.5" too short. The wings both fit well against the bottom of the bumper. Had to drill all the holes (not even marked) but it fit. Not sure what to do about the middle section. Some seem to leave it out but not want I wanted. $395 delivered. Not what I'd describe as a quality manufacturer.
Thanks Ed. I want to learn as much as I can about these 993's. Values are on the rise and the nice ones are getting harder to find. Owners seem to love them and pile on the miles.

Ive used both dc auto and partsheaven for parts. Both seem well stocked. Be careful on dcs website though, it is not always clear if you are getting new or used parts, they sell both. DC was great when I needed to return something.

Thanks. Parts companies don't seem to be very deep at all in 993 bits. I called North Scottsdale Porsche yesterday chasing a part and got nowhere. Even the diagram lets emailed to me was wrong. Dismantlers
don't seem to have too many 993's either. Fortunately most systems are fairly easy but parts (like electrical and interior trim) are hard to find. Or it seems that way so far. Hoping to learn some secrets and get this little car into top condition. Not much further to go. This is a really nice little 993 Cab.

Back to the garage... ;D

Dealer prices can vary a lot. Ive had the best luck with Suncoast, ask for Ryan. The two local dealers in NH were not even close on price. There are also some well known shops on this board that provide invaluable support when possible we should all support them in return. A few are Steve Weiner at Rennsport, Henry at Supertech, Darin and Mark at FD Motorsports just to name a few. Mark and Darin are more frequently on rennlist, Steve is often on both and Im not sure about Henry, I know he is on Pelican. There are many others as well.

Good stuff and a Great point. Getting "free" advice from experienced and honest supporters on these blogs is wonderful. They're PAYING IT FORWARD. If you can use their professional services you SHOULD. That's it. How long did it take each of us to find the "right wrench" to do work on our babies when we can't or don't want to? What's that worth? Everything to my way of thinking. Trust isn't something you buy. It's a priceless virtue.

Pay it back or pay it forward, but do it with Trust and your patronage when you can. If we trust them for their honest advice why not with their services or products?

I'm just sayin' ;D
