Question Replacing gear shift boot?

Hi,
I recently bought a new gear shift boot. It actually came with instructions on how to remove the boot from the console. Unfortunately, it also said that the console needed to be removed. I vaguely remember a post about the shifter boot replacement, but I don't recall having to remove the console.

If I need to remove the console, how do I go about doing this job? The spoiler knob and 3 other toggles are connected to the console, but I don't see how to remove them. I've notice that the console trays have some screws that could be removed, but will that allow me access to hidden screws holding the console in place?

TIA,
HB

Definitely do not need to remove console . Just press down around the edges of the boot and the ring will pop down and then just pull the boot out at an angle . Very simple .

Cheers Guy

Thanks Brief. Just to verify, once I angle the new boot in, I just pull back up on the boot so it locks into place?

Thanks Brief,
I popped the old on off and installed the new one by using the procedure listed. It took all of 5 minutes.
