compression test
I have my engine out of the car, took the plugs out and connected a compression gauge to #1 then # 2 after five or six hand cranks I got a reading of 90 psi on both cylinders. I gave up going any further. Any ideas how i can get a more accurate reading? Thanks

Reinstall the starter and jump it with some battery cables. Hold the throttle open while cranking.
You could do a leakdown instead.

^ what he said. You are going to have to bump the engine or do a leakdown. Leakdown is the better test anyway.
