964 door swings open too wide?
Any body engineered a nice, simple solution to stop the door from swinging so widely?

How is your "door arrestor" 964-537-057-00 #15 on picture 804-00? It typically limits the opening of the door.

It's there but the doors still swing wider than desired... worried about parking lots for example

There is a thick rubber damper INSIDE the door that limits door travel. To see it, remove the door panel and look inside with a flashlight. If it wears out and falls off the door will open much farther than it should.

Their called door checks. I had the same problem. The bumps wear flat. Always nervous in hitting car next to me in parking lots. I changed mine with parts from URO.

I’m having the same problem.
I read this thread regarding the rubber bumper and when I asked my parts supplier about that they just said they were only aware of the check strap itself. I do see a rubber bumper in the check strap that is pictured above. Is that the rubber bumper referenced? Meaning that it’s part of the check strap? ![]() Thanks! |

Be careful - at some point, the bottom edge of the door catches and can bend the door.

That is swinging quite far open. Is the metal where the door check mounts to the door tearing? You may know this, but in order to examine the mounting thoroughly, you need to take the door card off and look in from the interior of the door cavity.
