89 C4 964 start up issues

Hi All,
awesome forum first time here looking for some help.

my 89 model c4 964 gives me trouble starting after a drive and sitting for 30mins and over. will never start with first ignition cranking but 99% of time will start with 2nd time around.

if I turn car off after drive and start within a few moments or so never a problem. only after been sitting. also generally starts o first time cranking on cold start sometimes does need 2nd time though.

once car running its randomly and ever so slightly hunts at idle. drives like a dream

any advice or help appreciated

Was having a similar problem. I installed a new DME relay, and the problem was fixed.

Well, if it starts only on second try, after sitting for 30 minutes, it's possible a fuel pressure loss or bleed.
Hook up a fuel pressure tester and check fuel pressure during cranking, while running and after shutting off.
Post results.
