alternator problem

when my battery is fully charged and the engine is cold the alternator is putting out 14.2 volts. As the car is driven and the temp goes up the output of the alternator goes down to about 13 volts and the battery loses charge.....any idea where the fault lies???????

I wouldn't be replacing anything until you run voltage drop tests to make sure it is the cable. If the cables are OK, I would check the voltage regulator.
