New Ignition Switch does not solve issue

I was having issues with my switch not starting my 02 Carrera. Finally one morning the key would not turn. I ended up trying a Duralast switch and the car actually started once. I **** it off and it would not start back up. I traded out that switch for another Duralast one and it will not turn over. I have another switch on order but it will not show up till a few days. What are the odds that this Duralast switches are just not compatible? I thought it could maybe be the clutch sensor but since the key locked in place once and actually started once leads me to think it has to be switch. I have had issues with my Honda in the past about only using certain OEM parts.

I don't know about Durolast. I have used these switches with no problems. The VAG uses these switches in VW, Audi, Porsche etc...

They are available from Pelican.

Mine used to be hard to turn. Took a few minutes of gentle encouragement to get past the detentes every time. It got better and better over time. Now it's fine. I bought a new switch but the old one is going great so the new one is still in the wrapper.

I think the PO didn't drive the car enough. Is it worse when the car is cold?
