How to tell if a 996 GT3 Body Kit is genuine?
Hi,
Can you easily determine if a 996 GT3 / aero bodykit is genuine????? Any help appreciated...I would assume genuine porsche items would have serial numbers etc somewhere! |

The part numbers are all on the back sides of the pieces. One way to tell is that the Factory parts are flexible palstic (Urethane I think) instead of fiberglass (FRP). I don't know of any "affordable" aftermarket pieces that are not made out of FRP. I'm sure that Ruf or some other maufactures make them in the flexible stuff but they will not be a direct copy of the Factory pieces then.

You can check the options that were ordered with the car to see if it originally came with that. I forget what the option code is, mine has it on the sticker, I can look it up later on...
