P0301 - Misfire, Cylinder 1, Damaging to Catalytic Converter
P0313 - Misfire, cylinder 1 emission relevant I also have a '99 and I just had this issue - and a few others. Anyhow, it was suggested that I swap the #1 coil pack with #3 (it's the easiest to get to) , clear the codes and see if the codes follow the coil pack. When I went to do this it seemed like the connector to the coil pack was loose so I made sure it was seated in the socket, cleared my codes and everything was fine for a month and then when we had a hard rain, the problem came back. It seems that high humidity or moisture can cause them to short out if they are compromised in any way. So I went ahead and ordered a coil pack (best price is $39 here at PP) and replaced it - today as a matter of fact. Looking at the old one, it was cracked in several places, so even though I have yet to drive the car beyond my driveway, I'm confident that this was the issue based on all the symptoms and the part I took out. Good luck.
