Which TPMS sensor to buy?

Hi Folks,

I need to buy an entire set for a 2007 997 S and I have come across a plethora of different vendors selling TPMS sensors that come either in black, blue, or orange.

Which one should I buy?

Porsche 911 Carrera - 2006-2008 - TPMS - OE Replacement Tire Pressure Sensors

What is the expected life of these sensors and how does one reprogram them to the TPMS computer?

Thanks!

The sensors last 4-6 years depending upon the environment they are in.

You need to get sensors that are compatible with the Porsche system (what frequency they are on, Porsche uses 433 or 315 MHz).

On a 997, it is done from the OBC, scroll down to tires, look for "set".

JFP,
Can they use a mix of both on the same car? A set of 433 or 315 on any car?

The TPMS system is sufficiently annoying when everything matches that complicating the system seems counter productive. From what I read in the Porsche technical literature, the cars will accept either frequency, but I don't know what happens if three are on one and one is on the other. We have been using 433 MHz without problems, and they seem readily available.
