996 option codes...
Fellow Pelicans,
I'm new to the 996 forum, so be gentle. I have a question in regards to options. If you have a 996 without the original window sticker or the sticker that comes in the little service interval booklet, where do you find what options your 996 was ordered with from the factory? The 80's vintage Porsches are easy to locate (especially on the 951 and 928), but I doubt the 996 and newer are so easy, since I've looked. Can anyone offer insight on where I can stir up this data? Are they on the vehicle anywhere? Thanks! Last edited by Yellowb1rd; 03-06-2014 at 06:08 PM.. |

Well, on a 968 that same little sticker found on the maintenance book with the option codes is stuck to the rear trunk floor or tail panel. I would think there would be one stuck to the floor of a 996 somewhere. You can always go to the dealer with your VIN and they can pull up a profile sheet of all the option codes on your car.

Thanks for the responses, guys.
I agree that it's got to be attached to the car somewhere. I called Porsche corporate earlier, and it's 108 bucks plus shipping, and 3-6 weeks to get a certificate of authenticity, which would have all this info. That's just crazy. If I need to go that route, the suncoast parts website definitely sounds like a better option. It would be nice to definitively know whether there is an options sticker somewhere on the car. I can't remember who told me but I did hear that they stopped sticking the label under the hood on later models. Not sure if it was starting with the 997 or late manufacture 996s. I was very happy with the results from the Suncoast site. It actually gives you more data than the label since it is the entire build sheet.

On my MY2003 Carrera 2, they are all on a sticker affixed to the inside of the front trunk lid. Right out there in the open, so to speak.
