996 GT2 : i need informations please mates .

Hi ,

I'm actually looking for a 996 GT2 / 2001 to replace my 911 /3.2 ,

I would need some owner's experience of this model ,

And eventually , if a member knows this type of car to sell.......

Best 996 chassis car ever produced. What more do you need to know?

The two big things to look at, on both those cars, both the GT2 and the GT3 are having the coolant fitting welded and having the LSD rebuilt so that it actually works.

Are you sure a GT2 is out of budget? A real winner just came up.

Like Matt said, the LSD wears out quickly and the coolant fittings need attention, either welding or pinning depending on your preference (both have pros and cons). Besides that they require the usual maintenance.

Like said previously , here i am again to inform you of my choice :

I finally bought a GT3 MK1 :

118 000 kms , really good shape interior & exterior , Cargraphic stainless steel exhaust , that sounds loud !!!

But i must learn how to drive the beast , it's really a racing car !!!

My rally experience helps a bit , but that's not really the same thing ,

Cheers ya , and happy new year , be safe !!!

Could you , please , precising what happens when the LSD is out of order ???

I suppose , but just suppose , it's made with discs , like on the 3.2 LSD ???

Does an upgrade exists ???

More durable , carbon discs for example ???

Regards,

Ced'
