2000 996 PSE add Switch?
I know it was a long time ago but I recall seeing a good write-up by one of you guys telling how you added a switch to your early Porsche Sport Exhaust. [ It was a year or two later that Porsche added the console switch. ] Can anyone point me to it? Jvm

Did the early PSE even have a flapper or was it just on all the time?

Yes, it has vacuum operated flaps/valves. Supposedly the vacuum is controlled to some extent by the computer but it sounds like it is open all the time, except perhaps at idle. One of the vacuum dash pots has a torn diaphram and Sunset Porsche is helping me find the correct replacement. I would just wire these bypass flaps closed but my wife likes to be obnoxious.
