Headers affecting 930 Classification ...

I'm curious, if a D-Stock 930 has B&B Headers added, does it remain in D-stock?

In the rules it says that turbocharger plumbing can't be modified in a way that affects performance. Is the headers considered part of the plumbing? The pressurized part of the plumbing doesn't change ...

But then it also says that exhaust is free.

Just thinking .... anyone here race a 930?

thnx

I would GUESS (not knowing for sure) that if exhaust is free, headers would be fine. I'm sure the intent of the turbo plumbing rule is to eliminate any fancy pipe work that could invisibly raise the boost of the car.. Headers and a stock boost pipe would probably be OK... But again, I'm only guessing as to the spirit of the reg.

Thanks Chris, that was my thinking as well but I'm just guessing. It's the line about affecting performance. My headers definitely affected performance

I guess I could email PCA and ask

thnx

But it says the turbo plumbing can't be modified to affect performance... So the real question is, does PCA consider the headers to be part of the turbo plumbing..

Man, you got me there. Ultimately there's a limit to boost which I would think would trap infractions but you're better off emailing Lance Weeks before you spend $$$$ on a new header. . .

I already have the headers. I'm just thinking about what I would need to race this car in the next couple of years. Frankly I'd like to actually meet someone who races a 930 in D stock. I wonder how competitive the car can be. D stock is a pretty competitive class.

Does anyone know someone who races a 930? I looked through the PCA results and there doesn't seem to be many ...

Thanks,
