The guys must be plain wore out after running Willow, hopping in the car for a 450 mile stint to T-hill, enjoying a bit of sleep, and running T-hill today. Hopefully everything is working well, physically and mechanically.

Thats pretty cool. I wish i could have went to at least support them. Sounds like good times!

Jeremy,
see what you missed out on!

YEAH BUDDY. Maybe we'll hear something later. Today is Sears Point, and Tyson has a lot of experience there. He's run hundreds of laps there, at least on the simulator. Don't laugh, that's how most F1 drivers learn a new circuit these days. Best of luck guys.

The Chef 04-21-2004 12:23 PM

Jeremy,
I got to drive a real 73 carrera rs this weekend at nurburgring. What a blast. Ohh. It was on xbox. I cant wait to hear some more updates!

Big deal, I just ran a 1967 Ferrari F1 car at the Ring, and the old Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Yes, unfortunatly it was Grand Prix Legends on my PC. Man, that Jim Clark is tough!

A quick update -- we haven't had a computer with us.

Sear Point turned out great. After the rain dried up, Tyson ran a 1:52. We won T2 for the day (of course, we're the only entrant) but we also beat everyone else in all the touring classes.

Our best times so far:

Vegas Club Course - 2:00 (Tyson)
Willow Springs - 1:30 (Jack)
Thunderhill - 2:05 (Jack)
Sears Point - 1:52 (Tyson)

All on BFGoodrich G-Force street tires.

It looks like we stand a good chance of winning overall in Touring. Official results are here.

Great work on the Vette and Viper @ Sears...Why'd they fall off so badly or is T's track knowledge so much more formidable? Best of luck...make us proud!!!!

At Sears, it was raining all morning. Everyone was running over 2:22. It cleared up in the afternoon, although there was still standing water in the third session. Neither Tyson or the fast Viper (Terry Rossi) had ever driven the track before, so they learned in the rain, and then had to get their times down fairly quickly. The Viper got a single :54 in the third session, but then opted to put on a new set of tires for the fourth. He came out late, had a problem that brought him right back into the hot pits, and then went out again just as one of the Corvettes spilled a lot of oil on the track.

Tyson got down to :53's in his first dry session, and got the :52 in the short fourth session. He's driven the track on his computer, using a simulator, and I think that helped him a lot.

The Evo that took second place for the day (with a pro driver and 430 hp) blew its motor in the fourth session. Those Evos are quick, but they've been dropping like flies.

Here's the story so far:

lol - Sorry but I couldnt help but notice the drastic difference in model years - all 1990's and 2000's except for the P-cars!

Jeremy Cottrell 04-22-2004 07:19 AM

WOW you really worked them over at Sears!! Although the OTC site says T-hill, I will assume it was a typo. See Tyson, your computor (driving)skills are improving. That Evo looked like it gave a fair challenge to the big bore guys, our proud Porsche included. It shows you first in the division standings, but Rossi ahead of you in the overall standings. I don't quite understand the scoring system. Anyway, thanks for the update and good luck at Buttonwillow.

cstreit 04-22-2004 07:30 AM

Keep up the good work and show them who's boss guys!

The Chef 04-22-2004 07:42 AM

Nice going guys!

TRE Cup 04-22-2004 07:52 AM

woo-hoo!! Fantastic so far and all with a 1972 model car, albeit with some mods (heh heh heh)
Best of luck today

The Chef 04-22-2004 08:07 AM

Where was it built? :D

Vipergrün 04-22-2004 10:48 AM

Great work guys!! Didn't Tyson set a new record at Vegas the first time he drove there? That is more than skill....the force is strong in this one :)

TRE Cup 04-22-2004 03:41 PM

Hey Brad, are you going to make our Solvang Stomp this year? (june 12/13)
