Anything wrong with running 16 X 7 Fuchs all around?
Just wondering if there's anything wrong with doing that. I'd use adapters in the rear for street use just to fill out the wheel wells but then remove them for autox and track.
It seems 8" Fuchs are hard to come by lately w/o costing an arm and a leg. I can't watch the classifed ads, Craigslist and eBay all day. There are flippers who lurk and pounce as soon as they are posted for sale. Anyway, would 7s all around screw up the driving dynamics much? Should I just hold out longer for 8s? For sale 7s are numerous. I'm using stock sways, torsion bars, Bilstein sports all around and ride height will be Euro when I'm done with replacing bushings. |

I think as long as you are selling your car, it doesn't matter
![]() Toby runs 7s all around. Can also rotate for wear that way. If you are talking 16", you may have some rubbing issues with 7s and 225s, or even 205s. I have 7s with 205s if you ever want to try them out. Your 7s with 225s would allow you to check that combo out too. -Chris

I've run 16 x 7" wheels all around on the track car for about 2 years. Switched over from 16 x 6" fronts and 16 x 7" rears, so I felt a little improvement over stock. Tire sizes are different for fronts and rears, so I don't have any rubbing issues (but I don't rotate the tires either).
Driving dynamics are great. Tom

I also run 7/7 front and rear...205/55-16 front and 225/50-16 rear...
Just recently added 21 mm spacers in rear with 67mm studs ( replacing 45mm studs)...and I like this even better as to driving dynamics. - Wil

That sounds like a plan. I might run the same size tires front and back (225/50/16) and just roll the front fender lip. Wonder if Pelican sells the 67mm studs and 21mm spacers?

Did the factory ever use spacers on the rear of the narrow bodies?

Factory used spacers on 928's, 930's etc...with no issues.
I'm using a 928 piece...the 21 mm spacers that are hub-centric on both sides.... See here--> Anyone have 928 21mm spacers on a 911? - Wil

Better yet, how about 16x8's all around? I plan to use 16x8 et 11 rears with 14mm H&R spacers and 245/45-16 MPSC and 16x8 ET 28 fronts with 225/50-16 MPSC. I'll see how it goes and let everybody know if I die.
![]() I know some narrow body pre-78 911 cars have had good luck with 16x8's all around and 225/45 tires. marcesq and Ingo are two that come to mind.
