Lexan door window vs. window net?
I've beet out of the racing circuit for a bit as I have focused on my business and slowly (very) rebuilt my car.
I read a section in the PCA rules that sounded like you could run your car with lexan windows with a sliding (front to back) section in place of a window net. GT Racing calls them door slider windows. I wasn't sure if this was allowed for cars originally equipped (cup car?) or if it was an acceptable replacement. I have a bent X that goes into my door shell, so I can't use a lexan window that can be raised and lowered. I run rally and am looking at possibly doing One Lap. Windows are necessary for these events for the transit stages. Anyone have experience with this rule? What are other racing organizations allowing? I've been seeing more and more cages with side-impact protection going into the door shell. Is there a trend to start allowing this? Thanks.

I thought the provision to run the slider plastic windows for PCA racing was only for factory parts used in cars originally supplied with them ...

Scott,
That's what I was concerned about. What Porsche cars are factory equipped with lexan and slider windows?

cup cars have them
I wasn't sure about PCA but NASA certainly has the rule of factory only and only on cars that come that way.
