Video

This video is from my 13th lap of 22 laps on Day 2, Session 1, of a combined PCA-CVR DE & Club Race event. ~35-40F, cold, green track. We (the DE crowd) were send out to get rubber on the track for the racers.

Day 1, 4/26/12, was awesome. (7) 30 minute sessions. Ran 250 miles and stopped due to hand cramps. Best part was I left my GoPro camera mount at home!! No video...

4/27 was more like a typical DE with (4) sessions 20-30 minutes long. There was a fifth session at 5:35PM, but I was done for the day. Ran over 350 miles (~228 laps) in two days.

About the video: that lap was a little ragged, especially through the LH. You can see me shaking my head. Chasing that orange Cayman S. Consistently got light on the uphill, that was fun! Backed this fast lap up with a 1:03.89 and a few very low 1:04s. Considering I felt faster, and more consistent on 4/26, the lack of video is especially annoying.

That was it for the RA-1s. After ~15 trackdays, I chorded both rear tires. The video is of the last run on them.

Rest of 4/27 was on Dunlop Star Specs. Overall surprisingly good, coming after the RA-1. Not quite as fast, and at full tread depth, very noisy. But once I dialed my brain down a notch, they were very predictable, and could be slid around with excellent feedback.

I also listed my fastest lap with the Star Spec for a real back-to-back comparision. Concidering they were near full tread, 20mm narrower, they turned out to be incredibly good. Wear like iron too! Too bad they don't make a 245/45-16.

BTW, Fastest PCA "D" stock practice lap was a 0:59.x! #521 is the king of LRP for D-stock 911SC's No telling what he will do today.

and I had the carrot of a GT2 to chase

No, it won't allow me to edit it (I don't know why, but it does this after a period of time). If you look there is another database thread for outside of a CA that was made recently.

That is dang fast for a 2.0 around Road Atlanta. My best is 1:48.5 with a stock 2.0 (126 hp). I see I need to set my goals higher!

Neil, I was "honking"! I'm not half bad and 901 Shop builds the best...!

According to MOTEC, I should be turning 1:38's (eclectic lap - a combination of all of my best sectors). With the traffic we had it was not possible.
