I have been autocrossing with the PCA NER for the last few years with my 73 911E with the stock 2.4L MFI.
Does any one know what I should be classed with or how I can find the national rules on where I should go with an new engine. I just had a '80 3.0 installed. I know you can not give me the exact class #, but maybe what other vehical i should be running with, i.e. SCs or Carreras? Thanks

Jon,
I do not believe there is a nationwide classification for autocross in PCA. Here in NNJR, with your old configuration, you would be running in S4 (If your car is mostly Stock) or I2 (6cyl cars up to 1989 with Improved suspension and light performance modifications, if you've done such things to your car.) S4 is the home of: 911S (2.7), 928, 928S (except 4 valve), 914/6, 911S (2.0), 911 (2.0), 911L, 911T, 911E With the engine modifiction, you're automatically bumped up to M2: 6 cylinder modified cars. That's a big jump. The guys in M2 are the ones that run the FTD's. In M2, we see 911 Cup Cars, modified 993's, modified 914's with the 6cyl engines, 911SC's hopped up. Basically, if you just have an engine swap, if you were in NNJR, you'd probably be a little outclassed, since anything goes in Modified classes. Hope that helps! -Zoltan.

Jon:
Since you put a 3.0 into your car, my question would be: is it stock? If yes, some regions (and the national PCA Parade) would let you run with the stock 3.0's as long as it met all the typical specs of a 3.0 (at the very least you'd have to weight-up your car like a 3.2). Otherwise you will be in a modified group with "nastily" fast cars.
