if you are racing soon go sort out your account now so it might be straight in out by the time you are lookin to peek...

It doesn't get any better once you get the new account activated. This "upgrade" is anything but.......

Amen. I like the fact that it now takes about a half hour to scroll down to an event that happened a month ago. Site used to work fine.

Richly deserved. This has to be the most pitiful "upgrade" in the history of computing.

I have not looked around the new site yet, but it took 3 or 4 tries for the 'upgrade' to work for my account. Not a good sign, I figure.

I haven't "upgraded" my account yet, knowing how much grief me and a friend had in transferring the usage of a used transponder(s). I got my transp. with the purchase of my racecar and friend bought his transp. used. What a PITA.

Their previous website was a joke IMO and could have been much more user friendly (search function SUCKED) & powerful given today's software capability. I somehow find it not surprising that it only got worse. Their heads-up-we're-upgrading-the-website email notification a few weeks ago completely puzzled me. I consider myself sorta smart and I couldn't understand what the hell they were telling me in their FYI email.

Great job by a product maker who has a monopoly on this stupid timing device we use for racing and time trials.

I heard that it's been a real clusterfrak of an upgrade....

I saw the upgrade email but haven't bothered yet. I guess I won't even try for now.

Very interesting situation. Create a proprietary tool and convince all of the tracks to sink the loop in pavement. Cost = x and price = y, which is more than x. Or wait, heck just give it away! That may persuade them! Even pay for the paving!

Create transponder product and SW tools for timing and scoring. Heck, give away the SW tools. Make them work "just good enough."

There are only so many tracks...

Now as for the transponder. Sell them in bunches and make them non-transferable.

Going forward, put as little into web site and SW updates as possible. They cannot really help you make more money.

If you want to make more money, work hard to cost reduce the transponder. Keep the price the same.

Your real customer is the track and its customer the sanctioning bod. As long as the racers can get results at the track you are most of the way home.

It is kind of fascinating amidst all of the frustration.

Perhaps even brilliant.

For starters, when I go to the website:
why can't i just log on without seeing my own profile and being asked to update it?
why don't I select my country once and find it automatically presented to me?
why don't I select my sport once and find it automatically presented to me?
Why do I have to scroll tediously thru endless events to find one that I participated in ten days ago?
We are watching a fine business die on the operating table in front of us.
Step one: go back to the old software, throw the upgrade away.
Step two: hire a new team that can think.

Did anybody figure out how to get MyLaps to work?? I've only just done my first event since the "change" and I can't get in. Passwords don't work, emails are "already" in use? What the heck?
