Chad, don't forget it would be mounted under a shroud where your speedo, etc normally would be.. so hopefully will be shaded..

Any update on this from someone who bought it ?

Plavan 12-04-2013 06:52 AM

I have it- But have not installed yet. I bought it for the Racer I'm building in the garage now. They have all sorts of stuff for it now. I cant wait to use the Bluetooth module for the Nexus 7 tablet dash.

Looking forward to seeing it. Now that some details have come out, looks like a pretty neat setup if you have the time to set it all up!

Good choice going with the red calipers. Years of rigorous MotoDelta testing has proven w/out a doubt that red calipers are the fastest. :D

Congrats on the new car build. Looks like a fantastic platform. SmileWavy

The software for Race Capture Pro is still being developed, from what I have heard from people who have it and have used it.

We use Wifilapper, a free, open source application for Android phones/tablets which can be connected to OBDII interfaces via Bluetooth, and if you want to build your own analog data acquisition system you can get up to 9 input channels from an IOIO board.

The software for WFL is (IMO) more mature than for Race Capture Pro, at least with the Windows version. There is a cellular data option for it, but that portion is still not ready for prime time.

Here is an example of data collected, in real time, from a trackday. We have used this system for several endurance races as well:

Cheers, Keith

Note: I helped with the coding on the PC version of the software for WFL, so I may be a bit biased :)

Pelican has been offering the Race Capture Pro, Telemetry Unit, and Bluetooth Dongle for a few months now. We have one in the office that we've taken to a few track days and even with a basic, barebones, temporary install we have found it to be a really useful tool for improving lap times. I can't wait to do a full install in a car with sensor integration, etc. I think it will be absolutely fantastic. Feel free to shoot me a PM or an email (kyle@pelicanparts) if you have any Racecapture questions and I'll do my best to answer.
