Does this KEP pilot bearing install look correct for LS1 engine?
I just installed a Kennedy Engineering products pilot bearing into the crank of my LS1 engine. The transaxle that I will be using is a 915(but looking to buy a 930 transaxle).
The KEP pilot bearing is alot thicker than the LS1 crank register hole and sticks out at least 1/4 inch higher than the crank flange. For those of you who have done the LS1 swap into a 911 does this look correct? Have attached a pic. ![]() |

Greetings, went to KEP today and had a great talk with Brett. He verified that the LS motors have about a 1/ 3 inch, (.3000) that extends out where about .5000 remain inserted. The total length of the pilot bearing is about . 8000 . This configuration only applies to LS and 915/930 trans combos.
I wondered the same when I installed the same combo, but it was years ago and I needed to verify it for everyone else! Enjoy the build and post pictures! |
