LS conversion 930 Trans question
I building a 1988 Carrera coupe LS 5.3 engine and have a 1979 rebuilt 930 Trans. As I understand it this Trans is longer and needs to be shortened. I really don't want to shorten this Trans so what modifications are required to make this 930 Trans work in my 1988 Carrera? Please advise and thanks in advance for your response!!!

930 trans is a horrible choice for a v8. the ratios are so wrong it really spoils the swap

I’ll be putting a shortened 930 in my 86 LS swap. Tall gears will bring the rpm down. Probably not as smooth as my ls1 with a g50 01 but the 930 takes more torque/hp…

i had a short 930 gearbox in my 78 930. i was running a mast motorsports ls 427 motor rated at 705 chp. i never found the gearing to be a problem for the street and i did not race the car.

Larry, the only problem with your ls7 setup was that you sold it too quickly! Dream car! Now I have to make my own…
