I fitted a 2176 cc VW type 1 in my '66 912. It was a fairly simple conversion, only requiring the addition of a rear engine mount. The mount I used is one that is made for converting late VW bus' to a type 1. Required a little cutting and welding but was pretty straight foward. I had that work done at Proformance Motoring in Orange, Ca. I'm in the process of making some tin to seal off the engine compartment. Email me if you have any questions or would like to see some pictures of the mount and/or engine tin.

hi tommy, does your engine have the castings to recieve a t2 bar off the back? looking at my block there is not a provision for this. the two bolt holes are missing. Do you know of another way of doing this? thanks.

theres an adapter you can use that bolts on over the oil pump, any VW aftermarket supplier should carry them.

My case didn't have the holes for the rear mount to bolt to either. I used the adapter that bolts onto the oil pump.
