Porsche vs VW Trailing arms

Are Porsche SWB rear trailing arms interchangeable with VW Type I?
I need to replace my 912 SWB torsion housing and wonder if I can use a VW tube, which can be purchased with center adjusters and IRS pivots ready to go. I know I will need to fab the tranny mounts.

trailing arms

I believe that the Porsche to VW application works for 924 and 944 rear suspension to IRS(1969 and later) VW. It is a good way to get bigger torsion bars, brakes, and the Porsche 5 bolt wheel pattern.
