Radiator Placement Options/Question
I've been reading several builds on this form as I am looking for radiator options.
I've noticed many guys cut out a large swath of the front tube and put in a custom gas tank with a large radiator laying flat. This is then vented under the car. Does venting this air under the car cause stability issues with the aerodynamics? Also, I noticed that Rod Simpson has a kit for $850. He claims that there only needs to be a small hole cut in the nose of the tube to use his radiator. The existing gas tank can then still be used. How does his setup vent the air? I can't seem to find any pictures of it other than this one. ![]() ![]() He also lists a heatercore for $80. Does anyone know what this looks like? What is Renegade supplying? Jegs sells this unit for $150. It looks perfect, blower included and two exits. I could just hook up the existing heat boxes too it and use the 3-speed console switch to power the fan. ![]() |

my radiator i placed at approximately 45 degrees in the front nose of my 930 and vents beneath the car. i do not track the car but have seen some substantial speed and the car feels very well planted on the highway. i would never consider placement other than as it is. reversing is not difficult...just weld the nose bulkhead back in place. my car does not run hot but i did have the radiator made to my specs....much larger than r hybrids. my grill opening is rather small as it is a Ruf yellowbird spoiler for a 930.

I went the same route as PVX did on his GT3 car. Two custom radiators in the front fenders with 2 fans on each. Keeps the stock look and doesn't cut out any metal what so ever!
