A 73 911 T/E is a 2,4T from 1973 with either the Bosche MFI or Bosch CIS system, both of which were offered in 1973 only for the USA 911T cars. The 1972 911T/E (USA only) was offered only with the Bosch MFI (not Bosch CIS). The 1972 and 1973 911T cars for the rest of the world came only with Zenith carb's. The 1972/73 911T model is the only one which I am aware in which the USA model actually had more hp than the european model.
The 73 911T cars with CIS are usually refered by collectors as a 1973.5 T since the Bosch CIS system was only offered on the USA 2,4 911T cars for the last half of the 1973 model year (i1/73-8/73). After August the 1974 year began production and all cars were built with a 2.7 motor along with Bosch CIS, with the exception of the 2.7 Euro carrera which used the 2,7 RS motor with Bosch MFI.

The "E" = "einspritzen" = "injected" as in fuel injected.

"T" stands for TOURING. The T model was the most widely produced by Porsche. The 1973.5T was introduced as the last of the longhood cars that featured the CIS, black bumperettes and black vent pieces near the front headlights. The option list during purchase ran pages long! Everything from "S" trim to sports seats were optional.

You will find more "T"s on the road then the "E" and "S" models because of the high production numbers. The "T" is a great driver that I find outstanding for zipping around in city traffic.

Bob
1973.5T in Sepia of course
