Panamera Blower Motor Replacement
Hi,
Has anyone replaced their blower motor? I have one that squeals at high RPM and want to change mine out before winter. It's a tight space (and you're upside down), I got 3 screws off the the 4th is behind ducting that I am not keen on removing unless necessary. I picked up the part from our host here. Anyone have a trick to getting the screw off closest to the engine? Cheers

Well I finally got it done, what a bugger! I was upside down in the passenger footwell and it’s tight.
Got the blower from our host. I removed the very lowest panel from the passenger footwell (like you are changing the cabin filter). If you get upside down and look up you can see it. ![]() You can see 3 of 4 screws and get them off with a Torx T20. The issue is the last screw closest to the firewall, it is behind a plastic venting pipe that I couldn’t see how to remove. I then removed that venting by unscrewing the screw beside the floor light, then you can wiggle it out (it’s just a compression fit near the Center tunnel) ![]() This was the offender. Once out you have full access to the screw and electrical connector, carefull as it will drop on your face ![]() One replaced I tested full fan, and Yahtzee no more squealing! I hope this helps someone ![]()

Thanks for this. It did help someone.
![]() Additional thing - the screws for the fan itself are T-15. The vent tube slides out to the left (looking up at it). It's an easy 40 min job. |

Replacing the blower motor can definitely be a tight and awkward job, especially with that fourth screw hiding behind the ducting.
If you're not looking to fully remove the duct, one trick some folks use is a flex shaft screwdriver or a small ratcheting wrench with a short bit adapter. That way, you can get in at an angle without needing a ton of clearance. A magnetic tip or some tape on the bit also helps keep the screw from falling into the abyss once it’s loose. It’s doable with patience, but yeah, upside down and cramped isn’t exactly a fun combo. If it starts feeling like too much of a pain, pulling the duct temporarily might actually save time (and sanity). |
