I am planning to go. Not sure yet if I will ride the R12S or the F800GS. Front shock on R12 needs some TLC and rebuild apparently.

R1200S Ignition Failure - Input needed

My R1200 S electrics failed while at gas pumps after fueling up.

Cranked once and died immediately as if you dropped the sidestand while in gear.
Checked it , and cranked again. Died...

DO you have a hugger on the rear? I do and sometimes mine rattles because the rubber bumper is not quite tight enough. An easy fix..... But it really sounds like your rattle is different than...

I stand by my R12S. That sucker is really smooth, and is a pleasure to ride.
It does not shy away from very many sport bikes in the mountains.

Maybe it is not for everyone to be happy with ...

Yes, I DID put one of the rear brake kits on my bike, including the spring, and it made all the difference in the world! Now I can actually USE the brake. And I can sit on a hill and hold the bike...
