Another RSR Clone Project - Update 13
The RSR clone project is nearing completion. Last weekend my son and I put the motor and tranny in. This morning I fired it up for the first time. I followed Wayne's break-in procedure, first building up the oil pressure and then enabling the ignition and fuel pump. It started on the first crank and I ran it in at around 2000 rpm until the thermostat opened and the oil flow to the front cooler started. It sounded so sweeet running through the open megaphones I couldn't resist blipping the throttle up to about 3000 rpm a few times. I still need to set the front ride ht and the front and rear camber & toe and install the CV joints & axles.
The car will go back to Auto Associates for the Ralley muffler install and Dyno testing. Another few weeks and I'll be on the road with it and maybe even one driver's ed before it I put it away for the winter. A few pics to celebrate the engine firing up! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
