umm.. I don't think most GT drivers couldn't handle their cars. I think most of them over entrusted the car. At the end, the car is only a car. Some think "it can do magic", regarding handling.

OK, so do I get credit for having no carcinogenic coolant in my car to offset the rear motor? Let's see, 2 gallons is for than 3.2 liters, so I should actually have some extra credit to cover the cooling fan and what little leather I have left.

I recall a video on Top Gear where they taked about the supercars...the one that the GT reminds me of is the Jag that nobody could handle. Now the GT is a good car in the hands of a good driver, while the Jag was a bastard to even the pro's.

that one will buff out

this one won't :

also today

scratch another CGT

rough translation

swiss hotel guest gave the cgt to a south african woman for a testdrive, less than a mile from the hotel , she lost control on the twisties...kissed a few trees and that was it for the testdrive.

note , swiss guy not in the car , passenger was another hotel guest, a belgian

driver heavely wounded
passenger only a bit

mistake 1 : lend out a cgt to anyone
mistake 2 : lend out a cgt to someone you hardly know
mistake 3 : lend it out to a woman

The fact that Nader is still a respected "Consumer Advocate" (and in the public eye in any form) astounds me.

Why did everyone forget about (or ignore) the later admission that after they had learned that their handeling data for the Chevy Corvair was inaccurate, that they chose not to say, "oops, sorry..." and instead they kept up the public attack that killed the Corvair.

Nader is just another publicity hound thinking of himself.

missed that, i thought that was another car with the door open, hiding the aft, pic was to dark and it looked to big to be something that could have been attached to the wreck in the front

EDIT , comment on the wrong CGT totalled thread , it's confusing , there's so many of them !!

If accidents go on in this rate, the carrera gt will be a rare car indeed in 30 years time.

Two more pics of the wrecked carrera in the NL

Unfortunately I think the problem is that pretty well everyone has more money than driving skill....I have about 230hp in my 911 and it is at the limit of my driving skill. On my new project, which will have a 3.4, my son is disappointed that I am not going for the most agressive build in terms of horsepower....my view is that 1) I am not skilled enough driver to handle much more power and 2) I want to get at least 200k km out of the engine.

IN the case of the CGT, they are not exactly built for durability or the average drivers skill...what we are seeing is the impact of the latter....

Looking at my paycheck, that's a pretty grim categorization. I'd need help getting out of my parking garage unscathed.

Me getting behind the wheel of a CGT would be the same as me climbing on a Hyabusa after a 20 year hyatis from motorcycles. It wouldn't end well.

i went to the crash site this AM to do some forensic research. i found tons of shattered carbon fiber pieces, large portions of the under carriage, electrical parts. i also determined the origin of the car as shown in the attached camera phone photo.

looks like the car came came from:

pioneer porsche
9020 Miramar Road
San Diego, CA 92126-4402
858-695-3000

remember these are from camera phones, so the quality is a little off.

i am still working on collecting the other 15+ photos that my assistants took yesterday. perhaps by day's end, i will have them in my possesion. if not, i am going to call my assistant's parents and have him grounded for failing to complete his research assignment on time.
