All connections are good on the gauge. No movement when running. PO swapped motor so something may not be connected. How and where should I trouble shoot?

Battery stays charged and motor fires right up. Tach doesn't work.

There are several posts on this subject (including mine here 2.7L to 3.0L Engine Conversion / Swap)
You'll need the engine appropriate tach and I think you'll have to do some wiring. Depending on how the rest of the wiring is done, myself or others might be able to comment on how to wire the tach. |

Thanks Rick but it was my understanding that a mid year tach would work with an early motor.?

Ok, well then I can't comment specifically to chassis that's now hosts an earlier engine. I assumed (wrongly) that you went to a bigger and/or newer engine.
Hope others can chime in who have similar experience. Last edited by Ricks911s; 02-03-2009 at 01:53 PM.. Reason: wrong info |
