1997 911 GT1 Evo (Strassenversion)
looks to be first year with the kidney headlights. note: beautiful? me no think so...LOL... it is amazing & breath-taking... but more like a lambo then the beautiful aggression of a 930

I would have to disagree. Looks like a spaceship with wheels (that's not a compliment). And the wheels don't even fit the car right, huge gaps in the arches and the style of the wheels doesn't go with the body lines. But each unto his own

Well, I agree. The GT1 to me is the ultimate expression. I do understand it's about as close to my various 911 as the sun is to Pluto, but that's one of the few cars I could see actually blowing $1mm on.

That is a work of art! And as all ART it is subject to every ones own opinion. I myself think it is incredibly well sculpted. If that drove past me I'd be in shock I think. Nicer that a lambo, especially the new ones. To me that screams Porsche! Has a bit of Cayman influence or maybe vice versa... Good job Facey, that is correct

Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. A true exotic, to be sure and a very impressive package.
But it's not a classic beauty like a '55 Speedster, a '73 RS or even a 997 Carrera S, IMHO.

The most beautiful Porsche ever is the 904. Not the rarest, not the fastest but the purest and truest to what Porsche used to stand for. Case dismissed.

hmmm, 904--- OK, I'm going to tread lightly here, don't want to piss any one off, but that 904 looks a lot like a Dino than a Porsche? I too like the older cars, but I would be a lot more shocked and iimpressed if that Gt1 passed me than a 904. but hey thats just me...

Does designed by Ferdinand Porsche count? If so my vote goes for the 1939 Auto Union D-Type:

Another vote for the 904 and no the Auto Union doesn't count =) Anyone catch that show on Christie's latest attempt to sell one?

sick vid, thanks for posting...
my beauty vote goes to the 911R simplicity & purpose is its own artform. ![]() ![]() i don't seem to have any pictures of the real R's here... but those are both fantastic.

Cool vid and I second on the 911R. Very cool and very real, the GT1 Evo (Strassenversion) seems very plastic.
