Porsche Crest Supercharger for 914

Yeah ya can't turbo a 914 so they say. What about someting like this?
http://www.electricsupercharger.com/
It can be attached to any practically any car. My concern would be how much hotter would the engine run?

no it's the other guy that sells fast orange or one of those cleaners... I would have to see it work 3-4 times before I would consider it... the 914 is not one of the cars they think of when building these products...

Garbage.

Money better spent elsewhere ... like maybe an eRAM'd blender!

It should work as advertised...no difference than ram air used on the old muscle cars.

The key thing with the eRam is it only being used and functional at WOT.....not too practical for the street unless one really nails the throttle all of the time.

I'd say it would be one of those items to be added once everything else is done to the limit.

Mike -

When the big long thread occurred on the eRAM on the 911 board, I tried to reason with the guy. But he had not data to back up anything he did. The strip charts he had for the dyno runs showed an increase of the same delta "HP" from 0 rpm up to max RPM. This wouldn't happen with the setup he describes, which says to me they were fabricated.

Plus, all he ever talked about was pressure. Pressure is meaningless. Mass flow is meaningful. He had no data showing a difference in massflow.

No offense taken. Maybe modify gas powered leaf blowers and use them instead of electric motors

You have to mildly roll your car to make it fit.

It's not for everybody, but since I run @ WOT..

The only independant dyno test of the e-ram that I've ever seen actually surprised me by showing a small increase of power at low RPMs. It showed a noticeable decrease at high RPMs.

Sounds to me just exactly like something that can provide some air pressure, but not enough flow for an engine trying to move a lot of air.

Ok, who's going to be the first to hook up a gas powered leaf blower to the intake and have the throttle hooked up to the gas pedal?
Just in case anyone needs incentive, .....

no leaf blower needed... just wire an oscilating fan up to the battery!

Tell me if I've been too close to the fumes, but a small gas powered leaf blower is powered by about a 5 to 7 hp engine, right? Seems like that could put out some air flow. Probably not more than a couple pounds of pressure, but that would be a change from around 2"hg intake manifold vacuum at WOT throttle to positive 2 psi? Should be good for 30 hp.
hehehehe.......

ROFLMAO Sammy!

I doubt you could pass emmisions by introducing a 9.8 CO reading on the intake, you crazy driving banana... who wants to calculate that?

I just stacked up 10 of those Tornado intake spoilers.. good for about 600 horses.
