Clutch is out (LOOK AT THIS)
I think I figured out why my release bearing was getting kinda noisy.
The pressure plate is BROKEN. Two cracks and the bearing side got all crooked and jacked the bearing. Look at that damn thing. Can you imagine how that bearing was spinning??? Shane

Which would also explain why the fork shaft was hard to get out.
Now, look VERY carefully at your clutch fork - look for odd wear or cracks - if it is too far out of whack, you will need to replace it. AFJuvat

Old age and fatigue.
I have seen broken splines..... but definitely not too common. That explains the trouble of pulling the shaft out..... You will probably find that the clutch fork bearings have seized and worn a nice groove into the shaft as well.... Replace everything.

going to take a good look at it today. When I took it out it looked good though. I think it only drove about <1000km with the noisy bearing. I will be giving everything a good cleaning today so we will see.

So, I guess I can't re-use the pressure plate huh? Just joking. I already have a new one.

Damn, I don't have a mig welder so I guess I am just going to have to use this brand new sachs one I have sitting around.
Just cleaned everything and painted my exhaust. I looked at the lever and it looks good. I punched out the bearings and I am going to replace those just to be sure. Shaft is perfect so it should be fine.

Just throw some JB Weld on it. After you boil it, of course. You can use a sock to dampen the vibration.

Can I not just push a sock throught the bearing and attach it to a door. Then if I slam the door it should all go right back into spec. If that goes ok then I may just reverse the slave cylinder and get it pulling on the sock thereby pulling on the bearing. Hydraulic / fabric clutch. Easy as pie.
