Project 57: Replacing Brake Discs
Got any questions on Project 57 for your E36 or E30? Ask them here!
I just performed a disc replacement the other day on a friends car, and I wanted to mention that you may need to smack the back of the old brake disc very hard with a rubber mallet in order to get it off of the hub. I used the words "tap the brake disc loose" in the book - you may need to use quite a bit more force than that. -Wayne

I can confirm that... Had to use quite a bit of muscle with my rubber mallet when changing/upgrading the rotors on both my old E30 and E36... Just worked my way around the disc as much as I could from the back and they eventually popped off.

Your replacing it anyway so use the BFH (large hammer) no need to be gentle. Its usually the rear with the drum e-brake that is the problem.
