The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan is bigger...
Bigger and less HP than its previous predecessor, the 2018 VW Tiguan is over 10" longer than the outgoing Tiguan and comes equipped with VW's new 2.0L 4 cylinder 184HP engine. It will put down 16 less HP from the previous model, but it will produce more torque - 221ftlbs - giving you more response right off the line. It comes with an 8 speed automatic transmission and you can purchase it in FWD or AWD. Base pricing starts around $25k and can go upwards of $30k's for the more loaded AWD version. The changes you will see are trim and upgraded interior equipment. What are your thoughts about the engine and size change up? Share with us below!

The Tiguan already had more torque than it could handle in FWD.
They put almost no effort into the US Tiguan for the entire run, pretty much just shipping euro cars. And that's what sold me on it, although I'm in the minority of car buyers on that stance. It's a pretty niche market for a small, effeminate, decent driving SUV with no brand status. I can't blame them for wanting to make it more appealing to the US market, although I doubt I'll even drive one when looking for my next car. |
