Alternate alternator? --Cross post from rennlist--
I've gone through an alternator on my 944 (turbo) in about a year (Bosch rebuild, unfortunately I didn't save the warranty papers). There's too much bearing play, and it makes horrible noises, so I'm wondering if I can use one from another car. There's been talk of a hyundai alternator fitting, I've heard that 924 alternators will fit, can anybody confirm? I'm also curious about efficiency, any help there?
