I was surprised at first. After thinking about it more, I could easily sink $15K into that car, especially if the trans or top end needed any attention. Then it would be a $37K car.... Same old story.
We once said, “every 911 is a $20K car.” Now every 911 is a $40K car.
In a perfect world you would have time to do a leak down and full PPI. If the trans was perfect and engine given a clean bill of health, then it may have been a good buy. However, as we all know the list gets pricey fast. At that price I would assume to spend money on suspension, brakes, tires, exhaust, tune-up, maybe an axle or two just to make it reliable. Then, as I could not live with that interior, that would need to be done. All this and a few more grand for unexpected rust, electrical, or whatever issues and you are in deep just to make it a reliable runner- not even touching the paint.
