Geez, that was tough to watch. I guess the guy is panicked, but wouldn't it have been easier to hang from the axle with both hands in a controlled manner instead of using his right hand to hold on to the pilot? He probably did want to protrude from the bottom?
You'd think they have someone do a safety check before take off and have people test hang into the harness before take off.
I am not too shy about taking risks but flying isn't my cup of tea. I did a test ride in an old Cessna once with my kid at the helm. That cured me of wanting to fly in anything small ... I have been in engineering too long not to know about Murphy ...
