Every year about this time retailers start push some new kitchen gadget hard. This year it's all-in-one cookers. MrsWD got one for a friend for Christmas and asked it I wanted one. What the heck, it'll probably end up in the thrift store in a few months, but why not try it.
So, this this will sear, simmer, pressure cook, and warm food. We did some chicken dish that used the pressure cooker and shaved about 10 minutes off of the time it took the make the meal.

Yesterday I made chili, and it was kind of nice to sear the meat, saute the onions, then cook the chili all in one pot and just by pushing a couple of buttons.
The pressure cooker is automatic, you don't have to monitor the temperature, which is nice.
It doesn't do anything that you can't do in any well-equipped kitchen, but I may keep it around just for the convenience of the automatic pressure cooker.
