a few years ago we demoed PPG in my shop because Ferrari at that time changed from glasurit to ppg for there coatings. the reason we were thinking of adding PPG in our shop was to get better color matching with the ferrari's painted in ppg. you would think if the manufacture is using it them ppg would offer the right formulas to also match . WRONG! the color matches sucked. ppg also told us it would be a lower cost to use ppg over the glasurit systems we have in the shop . this was wrong. the 22 line is a very high solid so we were able to spray one less coat of color on the car this used less materials and also got us in and out of the booth faster with glasurit. after 5 years ferrari went back to BASF glasurit because it's a better system. after our month demo was over we never added ppg into our shop.
IMO Glasurit is the best paint line on the market. just about every top auto maker ( porsche , lambo , ferrari , bentley, bmw ,benz and so on.) uses it for a reason.
