Pmax - I thought the consensus was that Hagerty's valuations are a bit inflated, especially considering the softening market generally.
I'm of the mind that if there are a few significant things that don't add up - and there were plenty on this one - then there are likely a number of other unseen/hidden aspects that wouldn't pass muster either.
This car was supposedly owned by the seller since '87, and even from the limited number of responses and comments he offered, it was pretty apparent he knew very little about this car or pcars in general. It just didn't feel right by a long shot, which is why I was out above $50K and ended up not bidding at all.
