I think I read that you can chip the earlier cars, soldering involved(?), but I can't say that for fact.
It is still a bit confusing to me anyway, with my car being a 24 pin, later cars being 28 pin, and some saying the chips don't really make a difference is the later 28 pin cars. I actually bought a Wilks chip used for my car about 9 years ago, never installed it, though.
Spit6's are fun. I had a 78 spit before the GT6. Always wanted more power in that thing. Now the GT6 is completely stripped down to the frame while I slowly contemplate the work required to rebuild it
