Haven't got the thing off yet (had to put the muffler back on and don't have the energy to start over) but I can confirm that it's actually a 6mm Allen that goes in there.
Put the wrench in the opening towards the back of the car. There's an opening by the screw head that lets you use your other hand to guide it on. The sucker's on real tight.
