I attempted to buy some touch up paint for rock chip repair. When the paint arrived, the color was not very close at all. My car has the Rosewood Metallic Paint" option. It says so on my copy of original window sticker.
Now the story gets interesting. I have discovered that there were two Rosewood Metallic shades - red and brown. Mine is obviously red as you can see in pics. Theirs was definitely brown.
However, all the experts say my color wasn't even available in 1982. I beg to differ. Also my paint is absolutely original. It has obviously never been repainted.
All original door jamb decals are in place but there is none with any paint code. The window sticker doesn't mention red or brown.
I may have a special order from the factory car. I just don't know.
Anyone familiar with Porsche paint codes enough to offer any advise?
